It does exactly what it should do. I bought this primarily because we needed to upgrade the freeview receiver that we had which was severely on the blink. I was a bit concerned as I had had negative experience of dvd recorders before - very slow to respond, not actually doing what was asked of them, etc.. But this one does everything straight away, contains an excellent freeview receiver and records to a high quality. The menus are intuitive and the manual (yes I even read the manual) useful.
If you don't need the extra recording flexibility of an internal hard drive, just go for this model rather than the more expensive models which get equally good reviews.
