5 out of 5 stars Excellent value for first time big screen buy!   August 20, 2007

I had been looking at 40" LCD TV's since January this year and didn't have a very big budget. I had been monitoring the price of the Samsung LE40N73 model forever when I figured it would be a good idea to check out alternative models. This one caught my eye, so my partner and I decided to see it at a local electrical store. It looked pretty good and has a nice shape to it. Checked out the spec online and nothing came as being bad about it except the sound. In short I have now had this TV since start of August and it is excellent. Like most large screen TV's it involves changing the picture settings to get the best quality. However this is NOT difficult! The movie setting is excellent and along with the Samsung HT-TH22R Home Theatre the screen becomes alive. All I can say is that definately worth the purchase if you do not have bundles of cash to spend and want something that touches upon the home threatre experience.

I've been looking to buy a tv for months now and i going towards samsung because thats the tvs microsoft use to test the 360. I dont know if its amazon or samsung but on samsung website this tv states it is not 1080p (full HD) but on amazon it does?? But dont let that put you off this tv is a work of art and so is everyone of samsungs tvs. If you want a great looking HD TV and you dont want a hole in your wallet then the S and R range of samsung tvs. If your a xbox 360 gamer then the M series with the 100Hz. If your PS3 the full HD later M series models. I am going for the M with 100Hz becasue theres no motion blur. Hope this helps

5 out of 5 stars Can't fault this TV   May 13, 2008

Mine was delivered just over a week ago.

Extremely easy to set up. Straight out of ther box, plugged in, followed a few very simple instructions and it pretty much does it for you.

The TV's styling is very nice and although I was worried, it does not look too big in our fairly small living room.

Out of the box the picture is ok, but if you spend some time tweaking the settings (contrast/ colour/ brightness/ sharpness/DNIE/Movie plus etc) the picture is excellent. I've only used standard definition freeview (built in) and with the tweaked settings the picture is superb. (advice on optimum picture settings found on AVforums website)

I've read that this TV's picture doesn't cope well with movement but I have to say I watched Match of The Day on sunday and was surprised at how good it was. There was no judder that I could see, and it was fairly obvious on the 40" LG screen I watched the game on live at the pub.

I've also plugged in my PS2 via the red/yellow/white leads and it looks good. Obviously with an HD input the picture would be even better.

I'm sure there are technology aficiondos out there who could point to some minor negatives in the spec, but for somebody who's looking to either upgrade to a bigger flat screen or switch over from a CRT TV you won't get better (in my opinion)for £530 (the 32" is £519 on amazon so you get 8" for £11!)

2 out of 5 stars Your one year warranty from any big brand is as good as a chocolate fire guard   October 8, 2007

all big brand products are built cheap these days. hence amazon price is so good. a lot of you have commented on the cust service from samsung you are lucky it is not sony they are worse you buy new goes wrong you get old.

the TV in question is fine for games consoles and is one of the best on the market. it useless at every thing else (compared with other tvs in is't class)

did you know 30% of all big tv faults are not covered by your standard guarantee no matter how long it is. the panasonic free 5 year guarantee from ETS is shocking!

it is not fair that we have to pay to get a descent guaranteed but we do want things cheaper and its is cheaper to buy a good guarantee from the retailer than to have a well made product.

looking into the high street and internet guarantees the best (based on speed of service ease of use and amount of cover) surprisingly was currys!
2 day call out 21 day replacement and much more like you can get on a tv you got from amazon any time in the first year plus they offer a monthly way of paying it!
