3 out of 5 stars The ATEC is OK, but ....   November 18, 2007

It's more of a monitor with speakers than a TV. It has no wide-screen switching: you ALWAYS have to adjust aspect ratio manually: gets less and less of a problem as time goes on, but is still a pain. Lipsynch with a Sky+ box on Scart 2 on recorded movies is bad - something to do with the sound signal processing, it's also noticeable on other sources too. No support for Sky+ remote - it takes a LONG tome to get used to not changing volume/muting on the Sky+ remote! Picture is OK - good even for a TV or this price. Sound is OK too. Excellent range of connectors - idiot Amazon couldn't tell that there are TWO Scart connectors! If you are looking specifically for a 37" TV (we were), can't find anything cheaper and want lots of connection possibilities this is not a bad buy. It'd be worth paying £50 or even £100 to get something more mainstream, however where you'll find support online if you need it. If anything goes wrong with it, you'll wish you hadn't bought it from Amazon though: they try to make you believe their returns policy overrides consumer legislation and they will make it VERY difficult for you to exercise your statutory right, fobbing you off with having to contact the manufacturer for example.
