Three weeks into ownership and feel that my 12 month quest to find a replacement for my ageing Philips CRT TV was well rewarded.
Installation was simple, the self tuning taking a couple of minutes to find the channels. The EPG is easy to use as are all the functions available on the clearly labelled remote control.
I had thought I might have to upgrade to a digital aerial however signal quality is excellent via the existing analogue array. Sound quality is good enough and would have to be exceptional to match the old TV's surround with rear speakers.
The picture is superb watching digital TV, (haven't tried analogue but why bother?) and even with my cheap as chips DVD the colours are bright and the contrast has to be reduced to avoid eye strain.
The manual is easy to understand but not often required as the controls are intuitive however there is no reference to mounting the screen on wall brackets. The mounts are there - just hidden behind blanking plugs.
Having used this screen for a few weeks i can't think of anything negative to say - I wanted a quality Plasma flat screen to give a great picture and this Panasonic has done the job.
So far so good - now for the matching PVR..........
Better than any LCD November 26, 2007 MR T (Staffs UK) 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
I brought this TV a few months ago after many trips to well known tv shops. I looked at many LCDs which were always showing a HD picture and looked great. I asked for some models to be put on standard TV or just sky,and the picture went for great to poor. This Plasma is fantastic compaired to the rest of the market 32"LCD and above. The picture is cristal clear especially through sky standard digital with no motion blurring at all, blacks are black and whites are white. It could do better with sound reproduction but for the price not a grumble.I think Panasonic are now going for LCD on there 37"TVs. I have not seen one yet but get a Plasma while you can.

After a ton of research i'm happy i've made the right choice, standard cable sky looks great, football looks excellent as the set handles the motion excellently unlike some of the Sony's i've looked at.
I'm running everything through my PS3 with a HDMI cable and my old DVD's look fantastic, beautiful deep blacks.
Blu ray is really stunning and my games look great. All in all i'm really happy with the set as it seems to be an all round performer. I really can't fault the set, sound is find but i've got mine hooked up to a few speakers and it rocks.
Was a bit worried about the set not being full HD but my games and blu ray look so good i can't see the benefit on a set this size and i now think its a bit of a gimmick. Anyway i can't recommend this set high enough and its also excellent value and no calibration or messing when setting up, delighted.

Just got this TV yesterday so I can't comment on the longevity, but I read loads of reviews before I splashed out and have to say I'm blown away by this TV. I didn't buy from Amazon (but would have liked to if the price was better) and I only got the pedestal with it, not the cabinet but I had the whole thing from the car and up and running in less than 20mins.
Picture is better than any +32" non-crt TV I've ever seen and it looks fantastic even when it's switched off!
I can't recommend this plasma screen highly enough.
Buy one in the sales while you can.
