4 out of 5 stars Very pleased!   January 10, 2008

As various people on various pages have remarked - this does not deliver a true surround sound comparable to having speakers and leads all over the place - on the other hand, you don't have to have speakers and leads all over the place! As you'd expect, all the sound comes from in front of you.

What it does deliver is an excellent quality, easily configurable (to personal taste, room size, sofa position etc) 5.1 sound, and with the surround sound feature switched on, it certainly gives an impressive 3 dimensional depth of sound vastly superior to the TV on its own. At last, I can hear dialogue over explosions, orchestral soundtracks etc!

It looks good too! We have a 37" Phillips LCD TV in black and it all looks very complimentary.

Very easy to set up and Amazon offered best price and reliable delivery. It was dead easy to set up and after about 20 minutes of turning center, mid and rear speaker volumes up and down and experimenting with DSP settings I had a sound that I was happy with. I had to turn the twin subwoofers down quite low, I'm not sure why they're quite so powerful - possibly you could use them for some sort of sonic warfare, or demolishing unwanted walls!

I'm very pleased!

I am very pleased with this product even though I have only had it for a few hours now. Main use of this will be as an output from my PC's optical output so that I can listen to my HD movies and TV shows in 2.1 and 5.1 sound along with my 1080p HDTV that is also hooked up to the PC via DVI output. I also have it set up with my PS3 via optical output to play games and watch blu-ray movies on with my HDTV.
First impressions are WOW - the sound coming from this is amazing, very clear indeed, althogh as others have mentioned the bass is a bit too much and needs to be turned down to get a better effect. I haven't messed with the settings on this too much and have just cycled through the presets to find one to suit my room and adjusted the bass (subwoofer) and selected either 2.1 or 5.1 channel sound.
I tested using an HD-rip of transformers from the PC connection, all I can say is that even with the bass turned down watch out for when the helicopters pass over you... even with the sound only at 28 I got shouted at to turn it down as the floor was vibrating a bit, LOL
On the PS3 I tested using battlefield bad company online and it was fantastic, especially when someone throws a grenade at you or an RPG.

I would recommend this to anyone, much better than having wires all over the place, and unless you have a room set aside especially for this kind of thing I don't think you'd notice much difference between a "proper" 5.1 surround system and the logic3 soundstage to be honest.

5 out of 5 stars soundstage 5.1   December 5, 2008

After looking at a few things similar to this i.e. the Yamaha that looks almost identical, i had to go for this just because of the really low price expecting to be sending it back, but after setting it up its staying put. the sound is awesome like many pro review site have said before its very clear and very loud. As with other reviewers i had to turn the subs down straight away even on the lowest setting they are very powerfull. 2 optical inputs so i have my ps3 and my 360 plugged in and with ps3's play tv all my tv comes throught the soundstage too. perhaps my only niggle is that it comes with 5 preset equaliser settings but only 2 are really usable the others are meant to simulate 'live' or 'hall' sounds and i for one would never want that effect to the sound. once youve found a eq that suits ( i use 3 and 4) and turned the sub down it really is a brilliant bit of kit and for the money is an absolute bargain. definately recommend to anyone who wants good sound from his home set up but doesnt want wires traling everywhere! dont recommend to anyone with thin walls and irate neighbours!

4 out of 5 stars Great but doe shave it's faults...   May 16, 2009

First up I'll talk about the sound quality. It's fantastic. Watching sports or movies in Dolby Digital and the sound is crystal clear. To get a better 5.1 effect I'd recommend having the speaker off the ground (mine's on 4" speaker spikes, or if your tv is wall mounted then this can be too) as this helps project the sound "behind" you.
There is a problem with the subwoofer, it's just too powerful. This contributes to a loss of a star. It can't be turned off and even fully turned down can be too intrusive, especially on action films/games.
As mentioned the supplied aerial is a joke so if you really need the radio I'd suggest fitting an exterior one (or maybe using your tv aerial?)
I personally have the surround sound feature turned off, it seems a bit gimmicky and turned off doesn't interfere with it's ability to project behind you for Dolby 5.1, but you'll have your own preferences.
The unit comes with a standard left/right analogue input which I have my pc plugged into and music performance again is great (but dance music really pounds that subwoofer!)
If the subwoofer could be turned down even more then this would get 5 stars but it's still a great buy.
If you live in a semi-detached or your neighbours are deaf then you're laughing.
recommended.

Logic soundstage is a reasonably priced option to enhance a flatscreens sound. The size and weight leave you in no doubt that it produces a loud and powerful performance. It needs to be run in,the base seems too resonant at first,be patient it settles down to a deep and controlled sound with use.The adjustments take a little time to understand since when you crank up the volume the effects produced work best, and it really goes loud! Overall the effects and sound add a powerfull fun soundstage to any flatscreen that lacks punch, its a solid heavy bank of speakers, enjoy.
